In limbo until 12/31

December 30th, 2008 at 02:00 am

I'm waiting for the end of the year so I can sit down and start doing all the review stuff for the year, adding up spending, credit card charges and rewards earned, portfolio review (ok, maybe I'm not looking forward to that so much this year), totaling up survey income, ebay sales, half.com sales and more. I enjoy gathering all the data and running all the numbers and seeing how things turned out for the year.

I know I could get started now and just add in any late data (like the 3 survey payments I got today or the half.com sale I made yesterday) but it just seems like the year should actually be over when I do it.

I'm sure I'll make a few posts with my review once I have all the numbers compiled.

Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve everyone.

Steve, that sounds like quite a project. How long is that going to take you? At one point I was keeping up with survey income, etc but I lost track. Maybe I'll try to add it all up on NY's day while I'm watching movies and marathons.

I'll do it over the course of the first couple of weeks of the new year. Since pretty much everything is available online, it is easier than it used to be when I had to wait for all the year-end statements to come in.

As for survey income, that's easy because I track it during the year. Every time a check comes in, I save the stub or cover letter in my tax file.

I keep all bills filed and my two main credit cards issue year-end reports that break down charges into categories: auto, dining, travel, etc.

I actually look forward to doing this. I know, I'm a little strange that way.

The year before I couldn't wait to run the numbers (I was debt free) now I'm afraid but it has to be done
By the way DS did you have a nice holiday?

Some of us have an easier time tracking our survey income!

Try not to burn out the adding machine entering all those big numbers!
No, I'm not jealous. No, no, no ... not one bit. Big Grin

Thanks, Amber. Yes, we had a nice Chanukah. We were at my MIL's on Saturday with DW's family and my mom's on Sunday with my family and our synagogue on Friday with our congragational family, so a nice time all around.

scfr - Very funny. I'm laughing all the way to the bank. LOL.

I love running my year-end totals also. I like to see what is different from the year before and what I can do differently for the upcoming year.

Good Luck Steve, can't wait to see your Year-End Post.
