It's Girl Scout Cookie Time!!

January 20th, 2007 at 07:06 pm

We are the cookie family this year, meaning we are in charge of ordering, storing and distributing the cookies for our troop. We just got back from picking up our initial order - 200 CASES!! That's 2,400 boxes of Girl Scout cookies! Our living room is stacked 5 high with cases of cookies. We can't actually sell until Thursday (we can take orders, but no money), but if anyone is in the neighborhood and needs cookies, come on by.

Oh, how I love Girl Scout cookies. I can remember kids spending their 50c lunch money in elementary school on boxes of cookies instead! I hope to run into a couple of girl scouts here and get a box or two of my favorites. Yum.

JanH - You are giving away your age - LOL. Cookies are now $3.50/box here and I know they are up to $4.00/box in some areas. If you can't find them in your area, I'd be happy to ship if you pay for postage. Just let me know.

Ohhh, the Samoa cookies are my downfall! Good thing I don't know any GSs. Those cookies and my diabetes wouldn't mix well, I'm sure. I hope you sell many, many boxes!

Wow, I was going to be the cookie mom this year!!! We moved so I didn't get a chance to try my organizational skills on that one. Best of luck in your sales.

Wow...If I lived in your neighborhood I would be dropping by everyday! Love the Thin Mints. Hopefully the kids will be selling cookies in front of WalMart again this year Smile

Those thin mints are MUCH safer at your house than they would be at mine!!

Your daughter, a cutie, who looks excited to be 'the cookie house' princess!

I remember selling them for $2 a box when I was a girl scout...only about 20 years ago! I still get sticker shock when I see what they sell for. Good luck with the sales.

My girl scout cookie buying profile: 1 box on the last day. Yeah, I know ... avoidance.

Hmm. I ordered 4 boxes this year. One for me, and 3 for our troops abroad. I hope they get here soon though. Smile

Today is the first day of sales in St. Louis. Took the girls out all over our neighborhood and their grandparents neighborhood. Pretty good sales! Ours are only $3.00 a box again this year. Our cookies will not be delivered until the first week in March. Hard to spread out all the sales with 3 Girl Scouts in the house. Hope the sales from my work will be good!

We def weren't the cookie house this year ... I can't imagine doing that.

My sister asked me to take the order form to work. I thought I'd get a couple of boxes ... I've sold nearly 90! We used to sell a ton back when I was in gs, but since my mom is now a teacher and not in insurance, it's droppped a lot.

My sister's goal is 180 and she's almost hit it. They are going to St Augustine with their earnings. Much better than last year when they went to a movie and drove there in a limo. HA!

Thanks BA *and any other* who've bought some for our troops. My brother is stationed in Iraq, and he doesn't realize we bought him a couple of boxes to surprise him ... but he asked us when gs cookie time was. I think he might miss that the most.

I still have almost a case of the peanut butter ones I bought 2 years ago. I keep forgetting about it because it is on the floor level shelf in the back of the pantry cupboard. I'll have to dig it out.

Whoa ho! Lots of comments! THANKS for being the cookie king, I am a leader and it's hard to get help!

Our area did a fall cookies sales for the first time and it blew off the doors. We had a booth in front of a grocery THanksgiving weekend and of course they flew off the table. Our little 1st grade brownies sold some 700 boxes or more.

That said, we are opting out of this spring sale. We don't need to fund raise anymore this year :>

Already bought 3 boxes from someone outside a store. Yeah, I'm more a short bread cookie person. And boy are they good, I have to avoid those girls though. I have to lose a person.
