Great casino visit today

October 18th, 2008 at 07:53 pm

We went to the local casino today for a couple of hours. I had a great outing. I played video blackjack and video poker and ended up winning $343 total! I'm generally happy if I break even or don't lose too much. Coming home a big winner doesn't happen that often so it was very nice. DW lost $75, but that still works out to a nice profit on the day.

My husband and I went to give the casino our $20 a piece after we attended a wedding reception. I ended up with a dead guy on me. I think it will be a while before we go back again!!

Wow, that is great. I remember winning $100 at the dog track on the first race, once. I quit betting after that race and came home with all the money. (That was about 40 years ago and $100 was like 2 weeks pay)

Well, I was watching my husband lose his money (mine was long gone!) and a woman started calling for help. Being CPR trained, I responded, pulled the guy off his wife, (he was slumped over onto her) and pulled him back onto me and went to check for a pulse, at which time he did that little ummmm, shudder thing (being a doc, you know what I mean). He was gone, but we still got him on the ground and another lady started CPR, but I told my husband we should just go. The guys from the ambulance arrived as we were leaving, and they were not running in. I found it amazing that about 4 of us "civilians" responded and the first employee on the scene pressed the "cash out" button. I guess they are trained to protect the patrons money?? I guess nice to know?? It was a length of time before the "trained" employees arrived on the scene. Anyway, took a few days to go to sleep comfortably, if you know what I mean. That was the first time I saw someone die or ya know....
