$60 Cashback from Discover

September 30th, 2008 at 04:09 pm

I just redeemed $40 on my account and $20 on my wife's account for our Discover cards. We use them pretty much only to take advantage of the 5% cashback bonus offers. The past 3 months, that included gas stations so 5% back was helpful. I also signed up for the 4th quarter which is restaurants, grocery stores and movies. We won't use the movies but we'll definitely use the other two. Just have to remind DW to use the Discover card for those purchases.

I use my Discover for everything, and pay it off in full every month. We earn about $200/year.

Great job! Gotta love free money. Yeah, I have a tough time getting DH to use the right card at the right time. Thankfully we're grandfathered in to a 5% gas/grocery/pharmacy chase card right now. When that goes, penfed!

I don't earn much with discover, but usually enough to cash in for a Borders GC for my mom's neighbor for Christmas. It's the most meaningful gift she gets, if you ask her. She'd love it even more if she knew it was FREE.

I traded in my Discover cash back cash for Bed, Bath and Beyond gift cards...For $20 you get a $25 gift card. Then you can use BBB $10 off or 20% off coupons. I redid my bedroom and using the gift cards, coupons, and stuff on sale in the store, I got over $300 worth of linens for only $68.00 cash out...which of course I put on my Discover card!!!!
It was so fun! A big game!
I remember last year someone bought grocery gift cards during the 5% back and then used them during the year.
